Grief, Loss & Transitions

Somatic therapy for grief, loss & transitions in Oakland and Online across CA

A space to process loss and transitions,

Gently tend to grief,

And slowly find its restorative force.

How have grief and loss impacted you?

  • Do you feel numb or disconnected from yourself and the people you love?

  • Do you try to go on, carrying it by yourself, trying to not let others know?

  • Do you fear that your grief is too overwhelming and feeling it will overcome you?

  • Do you feel confused, sad, angry, disappointed?

  • Do you sometimes feel grief that feels larger that yourself, it is collective, maybe even from those that came before you?

If you feel any of these, you are not alone. The sorrow brought on by loss carries the wisdom of what it needs. We just have to uncover it.

The grief that follows loss can leave a sense of emptiness or void. Sometimes it can shatter our experience in pieces causing anxiety and other forms of stress. Other times it’s quiet, numbing and disconnects us from ourselves or what we care about. It can feel isolating.

Transitions and life changes can also bring with them a wave of grief. This can be true for the unexpected changes and the ones we want or initiate because all change carries a loss.

Unfortunately, we live in a society that pushes us to “move on” and “get over it”. It puts timeframes and expectations to “recover from” grief and loss. But grief has its own timeline and everyone deserves the space to process and tend to it.

No matter what loss you have been through - whether from the death of a loved one, loss of a relationship, migration or relocation, or a life transition - the grief you are experiencing is valid and meant to be witnessed, processed and supported.

Together in our sessions we can:

  • Make space to safely be with and move through emotions connected to the loss

  • Find tenderness, aliveness and courage on the other side of grief

  • Challenge toxic narratives and expectations about grief “recovery”

  • Practice self compassion and care

  • Reconnect to yourself and others

Somatic therapy for grief, loss and transitions can help you:

  • Process what happened and what it means for you

  • Find body and nervous system practices to “be with and “move through emotions” without getting overwhelmed and prevent grief getting stored in your body

  • Access self-compassion and care

  • Feel supported and accompanied as you process what happened

Grief can become the medicine. Loss can be traumatic but grieving is how we care for ourselves.

Together let’s discover the wisdom, healing, and courage that’s already within you.
